Another month another great Folk Modern...
This week...
Oh Sister
Beginning with minimal guitar and sweet but melancholy tunes Sarah Berresford, better known as Oh Sister has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. After gigging extensively on the London circuit, she has recorded her first EP and has pieced together a band to find an understated but expressive sound. This self inflicted, widespread gigging has lead to favourable nods from Communion and The Independent.

Owen Duff
Owen Duff is an independent singer-songwriter and videomaker, adrift in east-east-London. He has been making music since the age of five and now writes, performs and produces his own songs. He plays piano, self-taught guitar, drums, a little ukulele and an even littler cello. Owen owes his musical ability to a small blue Yamaha keyboard with light-up keys, a Ghanaian piano teacher and a good ear (just the one). His musical influences include Laura Nyro, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Björk, jazz pianist Keith Jarrett, Bernard Herrmann's Hitchcock scores and the French musicals of Michel Legrand.
Owen has released five EPs, a couple of singles and a small flotilla of music videos; as well as recording an album of twenty songs which, rather than releasing, he hid in secret locations around the world. This was documented in the video for 'The Race', which accompanied the launch of Owen's fourth EP 'Realityicide’.

Adam White
Adam White is a singer/songwriter based in London, England whose songs offer the listener an insight into the chaotic world of a 20 something living in what he calls "the eye of the storm" of modern life. His life and experiences are what both drive and inspire his work and the ranging variety of his songs capture the feelings and emotions we all encounter but, most of the time, fail to realise as we too are caught in the same maelstrom of responsibilities and expectations.
Adam's debut EP The Age Of To And Fro is now available to download in iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
