After a brilliant first event just before Christmas, we’re back in February!
Dark Fabrics Cabaret showcases some of the most exciting, engaging and thought-provoking theatrical artists and performers from around London and further afield.
Hosted by Miss Patricia Primarché, the exceptionally cheap drag queen, for the February event we will be giving you:
- TERINA
www.terina.info
TERINA are one of the most intriguing new theatre performance companies in London, producing enticing, engaging spectacles working with a variety of visual artists, designers and composers. Described as 'fresh, exciting and brilliantly funny' by The Stage, they have also been anointed as 'one to watch' by the British Theatre Guide. At Dark Fabrics Cabaret they will be presenting an entirely new short piece of work based on shadows.
- Nat Lunatrick
www.lunatricks.co.uk
Lunatricks Troupe is a collection of circus acts who flutter the heart and hypnotise the senses... Dark Fabrics Cabaret is delighted to welcome down one of their most lauded and main attractions, Mr Nat Lunatrick, to perform at our February event. Described as an 'award winning gentleman juggler extraordinaire from the frozen northlands', he promises to titillate the eyes and do things with his hands you wouldn't believe.
- Nick Blackburn
www.blackburncompany.org
Nick Blackburn is one of the most exciting young theatre-makers in London right now, and is currently collaborating on a project with renowned avante-garde performance artist David Hoyle. He is devising a very special one-off performance exclusively for Dark Fabrics Cabaret, based upon the concept of 'food play'. Hang on to your meringues.
- Sarah Faith Salad Turton
Sarah Faith Salad Turton is a frequently lauded musician and live performer, who combines the elegant classicism of the harp with the sharp, edgy lyricism of fire-filled spoken word and bewitching song. Catch this truly excellent artist at a rare one-off, specifically designed and prepared for Dark Fabrics Cabaret.
- $harkface $ally
An exceptional actress currently making waves on the London theatre scene - Charlotte Gallagher ('The Judas Kiss') - performs a one-woman, ten-minute, comedic monologue on $harkface $ally, the venomous PR woman. Written by Pat Cash (Spoken Word London).
- The Bandits
Doris Day? Thaildomide? The Korean War? We all have fond memories of the 1950s and none more so than rock & rollers 'The Bandits' who present their own take on vintage classics & retro rarities as they take us back to a time when TV was just a new fad and Ronald Reagan was just a crappy actor.
At Vogue Fabrics, 66 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XB. Saturday 22nd February, doors 7pm. £5 entry - all door profits are split between the performers.
