We know you know we’re all feeling the same right now. That acid-sweet tingle at the back of the neck that says “Can't wait to go back on the dance floor”.
Then what better time than V-day to celebrate your love of great music? What better cupids than Valentin Stip, Frank Lorber and Mira? Let’s introduce this truly unique line-up, kind of a love letter to underground club music.
Valentin Stip, while classically trained as a pianist, defies genres and stereotypes. A few days before UBERMAX, he will release his debut album on Nicolas Jaar’s Other People imprint. Valentin's youth is his weapon, freeing him from any preconceived musical agenda and allowing him to push music forward from all directions. He will be DJ-ing in London for the first time and we expect no less than pure caressing wonder.
Frank Lorber has been with Sven Vath's Cocoon from the very beginning, playing an integral part in establishing the label as a stalwart of dance music. He is a true purveyor of quality dance music and has been working the dance floor as a DJ for 20 years now, from the mythical Omen Club in Frankfurt in the 90’s to Cocoon’s pandemonium-esque Amnesia parties. If you think of Valentin as the young fearless music hero then Frank is the cool veteran, the one who just knows how it’s done. Remember that when he’ll make you lose control.
Mira, also playing in London for the first time, rounds out the line-up; she’s the latest discovery of the Berlin-based legendary Bar25 crowd, but is by no mean a new comer. Her sets in Berlin’s finest clubs (KaterHolzig, RitterButzke…) are nothing but expressive warmth and riotous sexiness. She DJs with precision and class, often building tension throughout her sets in ways that very few DJs have the poise to execute. She’ll leave you in that strange state of unconsciousness, the kind you only get after outstanding sets.
For a bit of foreplay, UBERMAX appointed its jolly residents Sigmund K and CHVCK.
We will be back in our new home for the occasion, the massive Martin Audio equipped Hackney Wick's Autumn street studios.
