Brüt (at Bloc South) *

Beef and bear
Manly venture overseen by seasoned London gay mover and shaker Wayne Shires, possibly best known these days for the hugely popular basement hideaway East Bloc [see entry]. His monthly Brüt targets "bears blokes cubs hunks" (ie updated clones, with beards, biceps and waistlines expanding on the moustaches and slim builds of the 1980s, but for the most part without the leather). Brüt first opened in February 2015, at The Steel Yard in the City, then in March 2017 shifted to Bloc South – a railway-arch "new club space" in Vauxhall, with two dance floors and an advanced sound system, part of Shires's Bloc brand. XXL faithfuls will happily break their routine to come here, and stick around for hours on end, with Shires hosting a run of DJs at the decks until the break of dawn. Previous clubs at this address include Club Life, Factory 65 and Club No. 65. Tube station Vauxhall, then a two-minute walk.
