Modern-day Soho institution on two rather pint-sized, intimate and sleekly decorated floors, serving drinks, tea and cakes to a casual and subtly cruisy mixed but mostly male crowd since 2009. Located immediately south of Old Compton St — just look for central Soho's token rainbow flag dangling out front — with more clubby-like sibling bar on Lisle St in nearby Chinatown [see entry]. Pronounced 'kew', not 'koo'. In late January 2014 the basement space reopened as lesbian den She Soho [see entry] and in February 2014 the main bar changed its name from 'Ku Bar Frith St' to 'Ku Soho'. And the decor went all gold and exotic.
