Sprawling fantasy space
Predominantly hetero destination with with myriad pockets and escape areas, including an elaborate astro-turfed garden area. Caters to round-the-clock clubbers, with Sunday daytime slot apparently not without appeal for party gays. Started in 2003 by Laurence Malice, whose previously weekly enterprise Trade was one of London's defining gay clubs throughout the 1990s. However, Egg is a different thing altogether. Music: house, techno, drum 'n' buss, funky and dubstep. The club stages occasional free and invite-only Gold Diggers events in new outdoor area as of 2015. Tube station: King's Cross, then a ten-minute walk.
