Sprawling fantasy space
Predominantly hetero destination with with myriad pockets and escape areas, including an elaborate astro-turfed garden area. Caters to round-the-clock clubbers, with Sunday daytime slot apparently not without appeal for party gays. Started in 2003 by Laurence Malice, whose previously weekly enterprise Trade — now roving around London every few months — was one of London's defining gay clubs throughout the 1990s. However, Egg is a different thing altogether. Music: house, techno, drum 'n' buss, funky and dubstep. The club stages occasional free and invite-only Gold Diggers events in new outdoor area as of 2015. Tube station: King's Cross, then a ten-minute walk.
