Proper Victorian pub in the heart of Soho
If you fancy a non-gay non-lager drink in Soho, you might consider this rather pokey but visually appealing late-Victorian pub that serves a strong selection of ales. Ground floor can get crowded and boisterous as it's a very small space, so customers either spill out onto the pavement (it's legal to drink outdoors in Britain) or try for the few available seats upstairs in the quiet and cosy George Orwell room. Pop singer/cultural and gay icon Madonna has been known to have a drink here at least once.
