Practically untouched since its April 1985 opening (with dusty boots dangling from the ceiling to prove it), Backstreet abides by its strict dress code, and the pay-off for its loyal leather and rubber clientele is an unfussy, dark, atmospheric and rather trippy cruising space for the sex-inclined. Tall boots guarantee free entry on Fridays and full rubber does the same on Saturdays. Includes a small industrial-feeling, part-heated outdoor smoking area. Specialist events include a first-Sunday-of-the-month lycra fetish night (Heros, 6—10pm), semi-regular BLUF parties (alternates host duties with the Hoist), occasional cigar-friendly Ignite gatherings and naked cruise party Buff, which unveils itself every Wed 7–11pm, Sat 6–10pm and Sun 6–10pm (except first Sun of the month).
