Conveniently located Soho public house
Nothing out of the ordinary to say about this perfectly fine Soho corner pub sometimes referred to as the 'Duke of Welly'. At its most extreme it's borderline-leathery and casual-sordid. Can become buzzy and busy, with men often outside sipping pints as they clock and cruise the passers-by. Its more friskily sleazy but less happy-go-lucky counterpart Comptons [see entry] can literally be crawled to in just under 30 seconds. Previously the Rat and Parrot, the pub went gay on 11 September 2001. In short, a cross between Comptons and the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
